(Updated 2009) Psyche began her promoter/DJ career in May 2000 with Nocturnia, a goth/synthpop/darkwave event held weekly on the first floor of The Cage nightclub. Nocturnia quickly vanquished its competition, DestiNation, and within two months joined with a crew of electro/industrial DJs to form the two-level event Alchemy. With the sale of The Cage and Alchemy's move to Nation, the event grew to draw up to 1,300 patrons and has featured live shows by The Mission, VNV Nation, Faith and the Muse, Cruxshadows, ohGr (ex-Skinny Puppy), Icon of Coil, Funker Vogt, Pigface, Covenant, Voltaire and dozens of others. In the meantime Psyche began to promote and DJ at smaller events, Purgatorio and Dollhouse, while guest DJing at clubs from Los Angeles to Philadelphia and at Convergence VIII and IX. Psyche moved to London, UK in November 2002. She quickly founded the now-defunct weekly industrial/punk/deathrock event Vicious and secured a rotating residency at the legendary Slimelight. Unable to kick her promotions addiction, Psyche branched out once again into booking live shows, first bringing old friends Bella Morte to London where they performed with Zombina and the Skeletones and Devilish Presley at The Verge to a crowd of more than 150 people. Psyche has continued putting on gigs in more of a hobby capacity, content to focus on quality rather than quantity. She has also served as an importer/exporter of sorts, bringing US bands to London and helping UK bands to play in the States. Beneficiaries of this exchange programme have included The Last Dance, Eva O, Faith and the Muse, Voltaire, and on the British side Manuskript and Voices of Masada -- whom Psyche booked and brought on a six-city North American tour in October 2005. She has also arranged London debut gigs for a number of European bands, including Screaming Banshee Aircrew, The Beauty of Gemina, Joy Disaster and Avant-Garde. Psyche has also promoted a number of club nights in London, with varying degrees of success: Cabaret Macabre (goth/fetish event), Betty Ford Clinic, Dead Letter Office and Whine & Cheese. She has been resident at Black Mass, Xtro, Dreadnought and Antilight. Guest spots include Dead and Buried, Strength Through Joy, The Adventures of Gwendoline, Inferno and Intrusion (Oxford), as well as the Spring 2009 Whitby Gothic Weekend. Psyche also regularly DJs at Wrecked!, the annual goth cruise on the Thames River. Her current residency is at Departure, monthly at the Elixir Bar in Mornington Crescent, with DJs Vicky Fenbane (Slimelight), K-Nine (Devonshire Arms/Propaganda) and Steve Slimelight (er, Slimelight).
